Irons in the Fire…
Checking in to say hello to about 400+ people who visit this website each month. So, Hello!
Happy to see some of the decisions last month regarding online radio stations and how their royalties are assessed. We pulled the plug on the music stream for 80s Airwaves THREE years ago now (Oct 21, 2005). But there is still a hope that it might make a return at some point soon, and the royalty ruling last month played an important part in keeping our radio dream alive. If you missed it, you can always use the awesome Wayback machine to get a glimpse of our old website and the mix of music and media we were playing 24/7 for almost 18 months.
My analytics tells me that some of our traffic is coming from my Twitter friends (nearly 400 as of today). This micro-blogging tool allows me to post up quick news bits and music bytes, without demanding serious time or effort. And it seems people continue to add us to their list! If you’re more of an RSS person, you could use this 80s Airwaves Twitter feed to stay in the loop.
Taking the Four Hour Work Week (4HWW) book to heart, we are about ready to launch a very cool e-commerce website that sells sleep systems that are crafted from memory foam toppers and infinitely adjustable air mattresses; EverloftAirMattresses.com. This is an amazing combination of sleep technologies since everyone has probably seen the commercials for the space-age memory foam products and all the variations of numbered setting air beds. This product combines BOTH for the ultimate in an amazing nights sleep. VERY COOL INDEED. If anyone has suggestions for Affiliate Networks - I’m all ears! Also looking for an amazing graphic that will show how these two things work magically together… Or a video would be even better!
Our little SEO company, Web Search and Rescue, continues to add new clients every quarter or so. It seems that companies are seeking the individualized attention and direction we provide for a reasonable monthly rate. At some point, probably next year, it may get to the point where will put a cap and actually stop taking new clients - that would be a good thing actually. In the meantime, if you have or know of a small company that needs help getting their website found on Google, Yahoo, MSN and the rest, we’re waiting for your call!
One of the best 80s artist music releases we’ve enjoyed so far this year is Aimee Mann’s @#%&*! Smilers. Great disc from the former Til Tuesday songstress. The new Pretenders isn’t terrible either. Would like to create an audio podcast featuring new music from local artists that are NOT getting any attention from anyone. Have program format ideas and name in mind, just need to get it together.
Finally, I have collected over a dozen .TV domains for an idea that would use the web and IPTV to help people all over the globe learn more about a wide variety of Opportunities. I have the domains, I have the logos, now I just need time and motivation. More to come.
We are still in Connecticut…
But doing lots of research on cities and towns near the coast in North Carolina. Maybe around Wilmington ?
‘Nuff said.
Until next time,
