We’ve Returned From “On Some Faraway Beach”

After having swam with the dolphins in Cozumel, snorkled (sp?) in Belize and Honduras and just general beach lounging in Cancun, I must say it’s good to be back home. Aimee and I met some very cool people on the cruise and on the islands who we hope to stay in touch with and maybe even found a few new listeners along the way as well. Speaking of the station, everything should be back to normal this week with both 80s Nuts Updates at Noon and Midnight CST and a Friday Night Concert with Hal (at 8PM CST on Friday).

INFORMAL POLL: How many of our regular listeners use a news aggragator of some sort to read your favorite blogs, rss feeds and audio podcasts? I am also very intrigued by new video sources which are developing. Since July of last year, the number of people who read our almost montly email newsletter, the Transmitter, has slid from 64% down to nearly half that. I realize that spam and spam filters have a lot to do with this, not to mention our use of HTML in the email, but I would like to maintain SOME sideline communication with 80s Airwaves listeners beyond the station. If email is failing, and its clear that nearly two thirds are, I’m wondering if a more regular blog post would be more widely read/accepted. Looking for some insight from a few of you. Lmk.

Also, anyone seriously considering attending any of the Live 8 concerts? Let’s hear from you; feedback @ 80sAirwaves.com .
