New Ska Music Anyone?
A friend from my early broadcast days at WCBR near Chicago is still doing an hour long show on new SKA music. DJ Chuck Wren is something of a Ska guru in Chicago, having started a radio show back in the late 80s, promoting MANY live shows and launched his own record label (Jump Up Records). His weekly radio show, Everything Off-Beat, may be available to us for re-broadcast here on 80s Airwaves. Having recently rediscovered Ska, thanks to this station, I am excited about this prospect. But the question is, do our listeners want to hear NEW Ska music, or do you want to stick with your Specials, Selecter, Madness and Untouchables?
We DO play new music once every two hours by artists that established themselves in the 80s, but Everything Off-Beat will be made up of music by more contemporary Ska artists. Again, it would only be for one hour during each week.
Please let us know your thoughts by dropping us an email at feedbackAT80sAirwavesDOTcom.
Happy Easter!!
